We had another go at getting our jobs done in Dunedin. Success! However it wasn’t an easy day off as we had hoped. It turned into a full on day of phone calls and running around.

We are getting there. A favour or two each way between us and our neighbours. Jim needed a bunch of wood chips for his garden so we picked up 5 huge bags. We managed four on the first load. Pretty cheap too at $350 for all of it.

We had a nice dinner with Laura, Alistair and the kids. It has been a while since we caught up and it was fun to load the kids up with sugar as we left.

Rowan is on a mission to install a bit of a roof over the container. I helped pass up tools between organising boxes of stuff for the container. Together we unloaded the spare trailer. We had a bunch of vintage stuff in there from the Swapmeet. A local guy was going to buy it all for his shop but times are tough at the moment and he is easing on buying. Not a problem for us as we have the storage space.

All of these left over Oregon planks are going up to Jim’s as he has a use for them. Thankful for use of the tractor as it makes the job a lot easier.

We had a nice lunch at the Fort Enfield Tavern before unloading the wood at Jim’s. I had a lot of alcoholic ginger beer, which I am not sure was a good idea. Not because I felt tipsy just a stomachs full of food and fizzy while unloading all that wood. But by the time we unloaded it all I was pretty sober. The boys continued drinking so we ended up putting Jim’s bike on the trailer and I took us all back to Herbert. The boys were all squished in haha.
