90 freaking kilometres!

We have doubled our best day and it was not easy! We set off at 9am and it took us 1.5hr to get 31km to a lookout. We did really good timing in the morning.

When we got to Lyell, it got a bit harder from there. But it was a push for me from Inagahua. I slowed right down for the last 26km, where we joined back on the highway.
From there I got slower and slower. I added music in one ear and skittles. It worked for 10km but the last 15km was horrid. I ended up in tears lying on the side of the road telling Rowan to carry me the rest of the way. From then on Rowan stayed close behind me and we made it into Reefton at 6.30pm exhausted.

Our bike lights last 5 hours, we charged them up again while on a less busy road. We also turned our headlights on. Once the sun went behind the mountains
In the dark we quickly pitched our tent, I did the inner part while Rowan cooked dinner. After spaghetti I had a hot shower. The first hot shower since Tapawera. I stretched my legs, washed up and went to bed. What a day!
Hopefully tomorrow I can still walk lol
